MMOs are quickly becoming one of the mostly popular type of game. However a lot of people have problems find a good one,and one important part of MMO's are the popularity. I mean, who wants to play a game with just you. So here are some of the MMOs that were at Euro Gamer. First off, Rift. Rift seemed like a really fun game, I played on as many of the character types as possible. Unfortunately it seemed almost exactly the same as World of Warcraft, So nothing too new thier. Now if you really want to play a game, play Star Wars: Old Republic. Their was a line at a constant 1 hour wait, and for good reasons. You can play as basically any type of character you want, jedi, stormtrooper, sith you name it! Star wars had been in the making for over 7 years! for good reason too. The graphics and quest easily rival that of World of Warcraft, and many of the people i know who play WOW are switching to Old republic. So if your planning on sticking to WOW, get ready to live in a ghost town.

RAGE!

Just to let you know, I will be reviewing some of the games from Euro Gamer Expo, so keep checking back for more info. Today I'm talking about RAGE. Now from what I played, RAGE could either be a big hit, or a big flop. It has brilliant clever gadgets to help you complete little puzzles. Here is a bit of a hint for the game. EMP granades are attracted to the things they need to destroy. I thought that this was a brilliant idea since I've never seen it before. Also peices of what seem like scrap are really important to keep, so dont throw away anything! Now what I think could makes this a bad games is the racing. Personally I buy a shooting game for shooting, not for it to be broken up by racing. Although taht being said, it could be fine. Thankfully later racing is optional. Rage's main slogon is "explore the wasteland". Now if you ask me, that sounds very similar to the likes of Borderlands and Fall Out. They did however use a very clever and cool revival process, you have to do a sequence of trigger and analog stick movments and depending on how well you do them depends on how much health you regain. Also what's good about it is that you stun nerby enemys on recovery, stopping repeated spawn killing. Anyway from what I played, I give it 8/10 since it was pretty cool.

Elite

For those of you who really can't wait for MW3, then you will probably know of Elite, a new website tracking all your info online. Here's some basic information of the site and what it does. OK, so say that you can't figure out what weapon is best for you, you've tried everything but just can't figure it out. Well now with Elite, you just log in and it will tell you what is best for you, including weapons and places. Tracking kills and deaths all over the maps. If you played Halo and went onto the website, you will notice the same kind of thing, you get to see where you died, so it's nice to see it used again in a great way. So for more info check out their website and sign up for the beta! http://www.callofduty.com/elite/index oh yeah, you can also sign up online and pay for membership, this lets you get map packs free! Unfortunately the beta isn't for PC just yet, just give them time and they will.

On a Bus With a Trainer

Another bus, another game. This time I was playing a real classic, Pokemon Emerald. Now I really enjoy Pokemon games, I find the way Pokemon level up both fun and challenging. When a Pokemon evolves a sudden burst of joy overcomes you, and no, that's not a metaphor for anything. The starter Pokemon are of the typical variety, fire, water, and grass types. Straight away, just by the selection of the Pokemon you have decided the difficulty. The apposing Trainer always picks the Pokemon that can easily defeat yours, just to make things more challenging. However what some people also forget is that you have a first gym battle. In the older Pokemon games I always picked water. Why? because most of the time the first gym leader specialise in rock type Pokemon. So choosing a Fire Pokemon would make the game more difficult. One thing I almost forgot about Emerald is that its a extended version of Sapphire and Ruby, unfortunately I haven't played either, so what I say next may be redundant, but I did a lot of research. The only down side to the game is when you capture the Legendary Pokemon. You capture him at lvl 70, so defeating the next gym leaders becomes far too easy. I was very disappointed by this, I put a lot of hard work into raising the lvls of my Pokemon, so it feels almost a waist of time. I know what some people may be thinking "just don't use him!" well tuff, I'm too lazy too work harder. Still with every Pokemon game I have played, I recomend it.

OK, so I was browsing online playing some games, and I came across a great and addictive game. Accelerator, a fast paced first person obstacle course. It continually speeds up, and with the aid of optical illusions, you can barely keep up with whats going on. I really recommend it, so check it out! http://www.kongregate.com/games/TenebrousP/accelerator

Imposters!

I was flicking through the new OXM and a specific title caught my eye. Gotham City: Impostors. From what I've read on the site, Impostors is a download for PC PS3 and Xbox 360. The only way it is connected to Gotham City is Batman and Joker, kind of. Instead of playing as Batman and pals, you play as their impostors. The only real reason for this is so Batman can have a gun! I'd love to go through all the silly gadgets and characters, instead just watch the video below. Since it's so different and indescribable, I just hope that they don't mess this up, looking at the video it could be both fun and addictive. Anyway that's enough from me for today.
