Tap tapping like a pro

One game that is on the IPod that i love, and is kind of my show off game is Tap Tap Revenge 2, there are now many many types of Tap Tap. All are fundamentally the same, you tap along to songs on the screen. It is easy and hard at the same time which makes it a very addictive game. Now I could post reviewing every single one but, they are all the same, just different songs and you can even get artist specific such as Lady Gaga, Nickelback, Cold play and many more, decieded to review my favorite one. As if you like the sound of it you can download its free version Tap Tap 4. Now the reason i like Tap Tap 2 (revenge) the most is because it has none of the really complicated things like all the later ones, it is simpley tapping and trying to 100% songs (I have done 8 of them can you better that?). There are flaws with the game such as the shakes in the middle of other tapping usually doesnt get registered or it just puts you off and you miss a tap. The biggest problem is that the song beat is sometimes different to the beat you tap... This just ruins the feel of the song. There is a split screen mode however i feel that this is horrible as this requres two people head to head hovering over the same ipod, and normally gets dropped, heads banged together (or maybe im just special). Anyway go check it out and see how you like it.
On a side note (well two of them) sorry for the lack of on the bus recently i have mocks on...

Setting Up Shop

I have just created a YouSayToo account, I was recommended it by Gametrender and thought I would give it a go. So anyway just created it and am currently figuring it out.

We all fall down

I get bored sometimes, so I generally try and find some games online, and I found a sequel to an old favorite. Phage Wars 2. I love the idea that the whole game is a test for a Genome. You play as a genome, and the point of the game is to defeat the other genome. Now a first it sounds boring, but tactical locations like double reproduction and double strength allows the player to really get one up on the opponent. The different stages really allow the player to get used to how the game plays out. However this is where I would make a change. The game layers it features, so at first is was like a remastered version of the first game, the second stage had the double reproduction and so on. I would have introduced the new feature on the last lever of the set. Now when I say "introduced" I use this term lightly, as the game doesn't exatly introduce it. It lets the player know its their but not what it does. Thankfully this is done really well. They make the new item easy to use and understand, so you feel as if you discovered it. If it had gone wrong it would have joined the ranks of bad design with GTA. The game also allows you to customize your genome, making it fasters, stronger ect. However you must unlock these,so it's not so easy to get the perfect genome. I deffinatly would recomend this game, its free to play online so give it a go! Phage Wars 2

Just to let you guys know I am going to be doing something a bit different at the end of the reviews, hopefully it will work and look good.

So for this game I give it ★★★★☆ and that's SomeGuys opinion!

Obliterate everything

A game I recently played on armorgames.com is Obliterate Everything. It is a RTS (real time strategy if you didnt know) where you build bases, towers and ship docks that repeatedly build ships. I have become very addicted to it despite there only being 18 levels. (Well 17 as the last is you watching a massive space battle). Anyway the game is very good in my opinion. But also very very difficult in places, with spore enemies that convert your buildings into theirs and a simple touch, to you doing that the them. There is not a huge amount to this game as there is build, gather, build ships, destroy. A normal RTS, but there are some missions where you hold out for a set amount of time (which it annoyingly doesnt tell you) and missiosn were you start with nothing and they have loads. These constantly differing types of levels means that you constantly have to change your strategy to the matter at hand. This is probably why i like it so much. Many RTS's nowadays you can develop a method and re-use it every level, so it gets boring. Great game very addictive (if you can master it) go give it a go on either armor games or kongregate.

Making a delivery on the bus

Just before leaving for my bus today i decided to splash out and buy an App. It is called DeliveryMan. It is also on armor games, i loved it on the PC, easy to aim, accurate and generally fun. On the ipod for some reason the calibration is about 7mm off so you have to tap above them to hit them. Im not sure if it is just me but it is a major problem. Also the bosses on this game are stupidly annoying, they kill you practically instantly and with the off callibration shooting missiles is not that easy. Good points about this game is that there are around 40 levels on the IPhone so there is a lot to do. With each mission you have to try to survive. There are several weapons which you can buy and upgrade keeping things intresting, along with upgrading your car and the cargo you deliver, thus earning more money. There are also little challenges like getting headshots and multi kills. But alas this has problems as well, it doenst tell you (that I know of) how many are needed for the award so i just dont bother. All in all i would say that this game is far better suited as a PC flash game as it is generally better suited with less flaws.

This is carnage

Hi there readers, Plantman here. I have an apology, last week I said I would be doing on the bus on weekdays, but all this week i have been without internet till this morning so here is a video to make up for the lack of posts. So here is Burnout Revenge, a really cheap game on the xbox now as it has been out for a while, it is a very fun game to just pick up and play for 30mins or 30 hours as often as you feel. Very addictive, very funny to watch when your friend (in this case Alex) fail repeatedly.

Tangled on the bus

A game I have had on my IPhone for a while now is Knots. It is basically twister but with your fingers with three difficulties easy medium and hard with smaller dots and the are smaller. It is a fairly fun game but there are many problems with it; there is no score board so you have no idea when you set a high score or any proof that you set it; after about 3 plays it is very boring and tiresome. The good thing about it is that you can play 2 player so you can play with friends. Alas this has problems of its own; two people with their hands on an IPod device, after about 3 turns you cant see the screen any more due to your hands being in the way, and also there is no easy way of identifying who won as a frowny face just appears when you lose. It is a free game, some people may enjoy it so check it out, what have you got to lose.

THIS MEANS WARFARE!

So I know there is a lot of hype about MW3, and there is good reason. The Multi-player has been expanded extremely, mixing in the few good qualities from Black ops and mixing them in with MW2. The levels are well detailed, but not just because of the graphics. The detail in the surroundings has been done really well! Posters, fliers and bill boards have been done to perfection. The layout of the maps allow players to get a tactical hold of a position (as long as you know what your doing). The only criticism I have about the current maps is that they are not built for snipers. There are very few places for a sniper to actually snipe. MW2's beloved Quick Scopers have been given lots of new perks to help them quick scope, but not so much help for them to use a sniper as a sniper. I have seen this happen a lot to games, they find something that everyone loves and work it to death (sonic *cough*) So this is a plea to the designers, please, please make so actually sniper maps, and don't make quick scopping this easy, you will only ruin your selves. Anyway moving on. The kill streaks are gone, stripped bare and have been refurbished. 3 types of "points streaks" now stand proud and tall. With many different types of rewards for the player to use, the game has become more divers. At least, that's what was meant to happen. First of the Points streaks reminds me of the MW2 days, a kill gets a point and you unlock something to kill someone. Other than more rewards to choose from its very much the same. Second is support, and is over used and over powered! Players don't loose their streak on death. So a stealth bomber is a definite as long as they get the 18 kills in a match. Thankfully their isn't to many killer awards for this one. Last but not least we have the useless. You unlock perks on kills, and loose them on death. At first I though "This sounds like it could be really cool!", I was wrong. It makes very little difference to your play. If anything it makes life harder, as you get used to having different perks.

So equipment. Special grenades and back with a vengeance. They are sick of being pushed around by Frags and the Semtex! EMP grenades have joined the ranks with its great friend the Trophy system. The Trophy system is a brilliant piece of real world technology that is now in MW3. It prevents any lethal projectiles from reaching you, making noob toobers useless! As much as the game feels and looks like MW2, they have used a very distastefull cartoon effect for the titles and emblems. I am not a great fan of this, however some people do enjoy the look of it. All in all though I really do love this game, I love playing it and always will. I just hope that they add the Gun game and infection game types into the multi player, as they are currently only available for private matches and they are brilliant! 9/10 from this reviewer, I seriously recommend buying it.

On The Bus With A Nutter

Plantman here with another installment of On The Bus. Todays game is CliffDiving. Not a lot to this game you jump you do flips you land with as little splash as possible. You get score per jump and how good it is. 3 attempts per jump to try to get the required score. Very simple to learn. very easy levels to begin with. very very addictive. I love this game quite a lot. Its graphics are very simple with it being a stickman game but it is great none the less. Biggest bonus is that it is free so give it a look. You wont regret it.

On the bus with an Idol

Here is Plantman again with another installment of on the bus. Today my app is Temple Run. It is an extremely addictive game on the Ipod. It is fast paced and extremely fun with fairly good graphics. You collect coins, buy upgrades and run away from monkeys. It is a fairly simple game to pick up you slide turn and jump over various obstacles. The game randomly generates a path so every time you play it is a different map. There are in game objectives that give you score multipliers. The fun of the game is increased if you get a friend to download it as this means you can try to beat each others scores. Best of all it is a free game and so I would highly recommend it. This may well be my new time waster of a game. Deffinately worth a look in so give it a try.

On a side note, I am going to try to do on the bus 3-4 times a week so keep coming back and checking the blog.

On the bus with a mental man

Someguy has asked me to start doing on the bus reviews. I will do a majority of app reviews for the iphone as this is what i have to hand. Today i played an app called "Frantic Freddie". You basically are a man in a straight jacket who is scared of bugs and so squashes them. once you beat level two the jacket comes off and you have to squash them off all 4 walls. I would say avoid this game at all costs... The game is boring and repetative and isnt even slightly challenging till about level 10, which takes about 20 minutes to get to. I wouldnt even give this a rating of 5 as frankly the game didnt even last the bus journey as i deleted it once i found out i had to start with my jacket back on. So incase you hadnt gathered. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I DEMAND RETRIBUTION

I got my hands on the closed beta of Blacklight Retribution, and I gotta say, I love it. Your character is fully customizable from head to toe with amazing looking helmets and body armour. Weapons can be bought mid game or as a load out. Mechanical armour can be used to sway the tides of the game with plasma cannons and machine guns. The graphics on this game are amazing, and if your PC can't handle it you have the option to downgrade. For a free download I was amazed. The realistic but still futuristic war zone is a core competitor for the FPS world. I'm sure we will see the servers full for this game. With many different types of game types to suit anyone, and many different weapons, anyone can get a good grip on what they like quickly. I highly recommend this, the graphics, game play and all round feel of this game is brilliant. The game is only for PC, but will probably become very popular none the less. Going into more depth about the weapons, the player can customize what weapon they get when they spawn. Primary include the usual: assault rifle, sniper or sub-machinegun. While secondary you have pistols or revolvers, the player can also add attachments rather like most FPS'. But hang on... what's this? The player can buy extra heavy weapons in game after killing enemies.

The Robot suit is probably the most popular, however heavy machine guns, flame throwers and rocket launchers are also in the list of great weapons.  Another great thing about this game is the equipment. A player can carry things like a revival pack, healing pack or hard suit (extra protection). There are also skills, and so many of them, I can't talk about them all.  However some of the best ones are decoys, machete training and shock grenade training. Now most importantly this game has something a bit different. HVR. Now HVR allows you to see enemies better and see important parts of the map better, but choose wisely as it doesn't last forever.
Get ready for some serious amount of fire power on the games release, see you on the battlefield.

Party Crasher

Castle crashers is a game on both Xbox and PS3, although only for download. The game is set in a medieval universe in which an evil wizard steals a mystical gem from the king and captures the four princesses. Four knights are told by the king to rescue the princesses, recover the jewel, and bring the wizard to justice. Now if I am honest the story line is terrible (apart from the purple haired princess but i won’t ruin the fun). This game is terrible one player; this is because it gets boring very quickly. The graphics are not very good either; cartoony is the best way to describe them. Yet another problem is that aside from the campaign there is very little to do apart from battle online and “All you can quaff” a button mashing game that leaves your hands seized up and cramping and you crying in pain... Unless you’re an addicted rockband/guitar hero player like me, then it’s just boring. So you’re probably thinking why should I pay 1200 Microsoft points for a game that Plantman is giving loads of bad rep. Well here is the answer, get a couple mates to buy it or get them over for the weekend and I can you be almost certain you will all become addicted to: the small tiny bits of humor (deers being propelled forwards by poo), the multiple number of characters, over 20 characters (with the character packs) most have different animations that frankly at times are hysterical, pets that can save your own and your friend’s ass, also pets that attack you when you are on low health provide days of entertainment. There is a frankly brilliant leveling up system which is only limited by the level limit itself (sad face) with a second play though called INSANE MODE that is challenging and even funnier than the first (blooming thieves and their pesky arrows). All in all i would say it is an amazing game, IF you can get a friend to shed the Microsoft points as well, or fiends come over regularly.
Oh and expect loads of video reviews comming up, hopefully, crash bandicoot, the rest of the L4D2 plus a written review, burnout revenge review and maybe a video for Castle crashers

Angry birds

If you haven’t heard of angry birds I have no idea where you have been the past couple years (probably under a rock). It is the second most popular App on the App store of all time. You basically launch birds (that have various abilities) at pigs (in various defences). There are a huge number of similar games out there but this is by far the best I have played. There are 3 versions out: Angry birds; Angry birds Rio; Angry birds seasons. They are all good with over 280 levels on the original version. This means that you get hours of fun trying to achieve the highest score with the minimum number of birds, and all for only 69p it is an absolute bargain. The only downside is after about 5 hours of playing the app on and off you get very bored as you have done all the levels and can’t seem to do any better on the levels you have not got three stars. To try to keep bringing players back they release new level packs regularly which are free and come as an app update. They also have an in game purchase called the mighty eagle. This also cost 69p and adds a whole new game play to the game trying to destroy everything on the map. It is available (from what I can gather) on pretty much any smart phone/ android phone, PC and all Apple devices. You can even play it on web browsers such as Chrome and then there are versions on Facebook (although this version is often clunky and I find it not as fun). One of the greatest pick up put down games I have ever played well worth a look.
Also I seem to have problems uploading pictures for the blogs so i will have to get someguy to show me at some point as i may be doing it wrong (which knowing me is likely)
