On a Bus With a Robot

Robotek HD is a fun but frustrating game. Based on slot machine luck and stratergy. It's only available on the HTC (as far as I know) and its actually fun! However its monitization scheme fails. They make money by getting you to buy energy. However they may not have realised you can reset and keep playing. All in all its a fun game, however I can't see much potential in this type if game becoming popular. Your objective is simple,defeat your enemy with robots. You have 3 options of what type of slots you use.1. Robot spawn (create robots) 2.  Bonuses (shield, hack ect.)
3. Base attacks (laser, shock ect.). Surprisingly there's a lot of strategy involved, spinning the slots, choosing the different options, each make an impact on the game. So I recommend the game, but not that you buy ANYTHING!

3rd Time Lucky

For those who loved the Saint's Row games, trust me, your not alone. For those who haven't herd or played Saint's, its basically a less serious and funnier GTA. With lots of customization and funny side missions who couldn't love it? Well now you can love it even more. In the second Saint's Row you start out in prison, so obviously you have no real power, then you work up from there. In Saint's the Third you start off with plenty of power and work up even more. Now some people may not see the fun in this, however after watching the game play, I can see it being really fun. So I really look forward to November 18th so I can play it myself. Totally Original!

I was playing God Of W.. I mean Dante's Inferno, where you collect bloo.. I mean souls to level up. You travel a long way to defeat the Gods of Olymp.. I mean satan. Anyway enough bad jokes, the idea of that entire intro was that I empathise the similarities between God Of War and Dante's Inferno. I'm guessing that Dante's Inferno was made to be a replacment of God Of War on Xbox. Since the Xbox was laking the jaw dropping cinematics. It's to bad Dante's Inferno doesnt provide this. The game becomes far to difficult on the hardest difficulties, and far to easy on the easy ones. Your leveling system is poorley designed and boring to level up if I'm being honest. Here's an example of what I mean. For God Of War, to level a weapon of spell up you just pour blood into it like no tommrow. On Dante's Inferno you must use finishers on enemies, you ether do good or bad, still boring though. The good thing about the finishers mind is that you can't be attacked while using the moves..oh wait JUST LIKE GOD OF WAR! You use a weapon that extends really far..ow wait JUST LIKE GOD OF WAR! However as much as I am slagging off the game, I still recomend it. At times it can be fun, and for those withought PS3's it's probably the closest your going to get to God Of War. So yeah, it's cheap at the moment since it's old.



Look At 'em Fly!

As promised here is a review of Deadliest Warrior Slice Survival Challenge. Basically Slice Survival is a challenge that you unlock by completing the main game, which is really unfortunate since it is rather fun, and the main game is rather boring. I guess it's like a reward for dragging yourself through a boring game, still not really worth it mind...Anyway, if this challenge was a game I would have bought it straight away! The challenge is difficult, but not because of it's level. If you get hurt in round one, then you carry that injury for the rest of the challenge. This makes it both difficult and fun. One hit can take off an arm or a leg, this is true for both you and the enemy, so having a shield is basically required. I know all characters can block, but spears can still go through a block if you don't have a shield. After reaching round 8 I lost my shield, so I was thinking " yeah,ok it will be fine, I just need to stay on my feet". This was a very poor choice of words, I almost instantly had both my feet taken off with one swipe. The good thing being is that you can't really be mad with the game, since every time you die you laugh. It's amazing how funny it can be watching your own body parts fly around the place. All in all, I recommend playing this, however I don't think the entire game is worth 1200 Microsoft points. I think it's probably only worth 800 or 600, so I don't recommend that you buy it.

Truly Deadly

As a whole game Deadliest Warrior Legends is terrible! It's game play is boring and repetitive, and you mainly win by luck, not skill. However their are some glimmers of hope for this dull game. I have a video below showing how annoying the game is, however with a friend it can be kind of fun. The multiplayer is addictive and fun, but only in one way. With both zombie and slice mode on, its amazingly fun! Limbs fly left and right and you can survive! I even ended up being a set of legs, running around trying to escape my fate. Unfortunately I have to rate the game as a whole, not just on one level or mode. So I really recommend you don't get this, it becomes boring very quickly. I'm also going to do a separate review of the survival slice mode, so come back later for the review.

God, We've Got Some Work To Do!

Minecraft is probably one of the most well known indie games of all time. With frequent updates and continues game play, it's no wonder every ones heard of it. The only problems that I see with the game is the graphics and how the game renders itself. They are currently working on the graphics, and they look pretty good at the moment. However rendering is an issue that may not fixed, since it would involve changing the way the entire game works. Now in case you didn't know, the problem with the rendering is that it takes a lot of RAM to work, so you experience frequent lag. The game itself however is fun, and can easily cause the player to play a lot longer than planned. The ability to create anything that comes to mind really fun! If you search for Minecarft, you will find out that there are many different types of playing. Some players spend a lot of time running on the hardest difficulty, and others play it on peacefull with ought having to worry about mobs and simply create. New News, Who Would Have Thought?

Hey, sorry for the lack of posts but me and a friend have been working on something. The next post will also have a video attached..hopefully that is. I will be reviewing Deadliest Warrior: Legends. Not a great game, but I'll go into that in more depth tomorrow mind. Now some proper news. For those who own an Xbox and always loathed the PS3 owners over Metal Gear Solid shall loathe no more! Metal Gear Solid HD collection is arriving to the Xbox 360 on November 2011. The game includes the 2 epic games: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and the not so great Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. However that's probably to do with the camera problems. Everything is being revamped. So controls and visuals are all being remastered. So I'm really looking forward to it. For those who have a PS3 it's obviously coming to you, but I really recomend you get Guns of Patriots, I have played it atleast 4 or 5 times through.

THIS MEANS WAR!!

Halo Wars is a game that was given a lot of bad press. People always complain that the game is bad or, that it is not as good as the other Halo games. This is partly correct as when compared to the other games Halo Wars isn't every good. However all those who say its bad are first person shooters, so to them a strategy game is boring or dull. Which I think is probably the problem, it's only fan base are from the books or from the other halo games. As a strategy game it is great,not as good as some of the Warhammer games, but still good. The mix of classes and mix of abilities really vary the battle and outcome.The problem is the platform, the Xbox. Selecting your units is difficulty and time consuming because you can't select the units you want without dragging like you can with a PC. I think the future of console strategy games is probably something along the lines of End war. Being able to command units verbally really speeds up the battle. Just as long as the console understands your words of course.  All in all the game is pretty good, as long as your into halo and strategy gaming, so this may be more suited for those who read the books than those who play the games.

I Can See Your Halo

Master Chief is back, kind of. Were blasted back to the past in the remastered Halo Combat Evolved. After looking at the video of the new.. old halo it looks as though they have done well. After 10 years, Halo combat Evolved will be back on Xbox. They seem as though they are keeping the entire campaign with improved graphics (with the option of changing it back to original graphics of course) but they are changing the multi-player. It looks as though they are taking the Reach multi-player. They are keeping a lot to the chest mind, so there is not that much I can tell you. What I can say is that they are planning on releasing the remastered version on the 10th anniversary of Halo.

New Site, New Look

It's my new site and my new look, so since I'm remodeling I thought I'd review another game that decided to remodel. Duke Nukem Forever. Terrible, truly terrible. After a long wait for the new game, many were disappointed by the new Duke Nukem. The game feels like it's been tossed around by a bunch of game designer teams, so it feels almost out of place when playing. Worst of all is Duke himself. When the first game came out, the phrases he said were funny, and people weren't bothered by cheesy lines or movie quotes. However after all these years the world has changed, people don't like hearing phrases over and over. (especially when they are quoted wrong!) Duke reminds me of the crazy old man at the end of the street, even when we now have 50" plasma screen T.V's he still swears blind that he is better off with his 6" black and white one. He either needs to except the world has changed or die. That goes for you too Duke, most people don't find your sexist, over the top phrases funny anymore. Any way I really don't recommend this game, it's not funny and repeatedly references to other games that are much better, and worse yet it mocks them!
